OUR STORY & MISSION

For the Love
of Amber.

Honoring Amber

"Saving even one pet will change the world."

Amber's Journey

Amber was our beloved Brindle/Red Italian Greyhound Mix—our "little girl." Adopted into our family around 2013, she shared eleven wonderful years with us, filling our home with her gentle spirit and resilience.

Throughout her life, Amber was an active and vital part of our large pet family. She grew up alongside her siblings, Kobe and Griffon, and even during her most difficult days, she remained the heart of our household.

In February 2024, our world changed when Amber was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of ten. She faced her battle with incredible bravery, undergoing the intensive CHOP chemotherapy protocol. Even in the midst of her own treatment, Amber was a helper; she was enrolled in a serum study, contributing a blood draw to help researchers better understand and treat cancer in other pets.

After a rapid progression of her illness, Amber passed away on March 21, 2024. Her legacy is not just the memory of her wagging tail, but the mission we carry forward in her name so that no other family has to feel alone in their journey.

The "Why" Behind
Amber's Place

Navigating the Unknown

During Amber's illness, we often felt 'in the dark.' It was difficult to know what symptoms were normal or what to expect during chemotherapy. We felt like 'alarmists' because the guidance just wasn't there when we needed it most.

The Need for Compassion

We learned how critical it is to have a human on the other side of these heavy, painful situations. Grieving families need clear communication, consistent follow-up, and genuine emotional support.

Bridging the Gap

Amber's Place exists to provide the reassurance and guidance that is often hard to find in a crisis. We believe in a relationship with care providers that feels like a partnership—where your voice is truly heard.

Healing Together

By sharing Amber's logs and our own frustrations, we are mailbox creating a space where you don't have to feel as alone as we did. We are building the community we wish we had during those critical weeks.
